Terzo Album per The DI MAGGIO CONNECTION, ma ben il quattordicesimo per il leader della Band, Marco Di Maggio, considerato dalla stampa specializzata tra i maggiori chitarristi R’n’R mondiali ed unico artista italiano eletto Honorary Member dalla Official Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Usa.
L’album è costituito da 12 brani, dei quali, 9 originali scritti da Marco Di Maggio e da Francesco Chisci, più 3 remakes di brani classici del Rock e del Rock’n’Roll, rivisitati e stravolti in chiave personale.
Con questo nuovo lavoro, è facile percepire l’affiatamento di una band che negli ultimi 15 anni ha calcato palchi internazionali in innumerevoli tour che li hanno portati ad esibirsi in 24 paesi, dagli Usa alla Cina.
Seppure Marco Di Maggio è ad oggi l’unico artista italiano insignito del prestigioso ruolo di Honorary Member della Official Rockabilly Hall of Fame americana, il suo bagaglio tecnico e l’esperienza maturata sia nell’ambito della Roots Music americana lo hanno sempre portato a non chiudersi in cliché limitativi e settoriali, ma semmai ad esplorare il variegato mondo dei sottostili legati al Rock’n’Roll, Country, Blues, Surf, Swing, Rockabilly, cercando di fondere il tutto con un tocco originale, personale e mai banale…
La band ha suonato in 24 paesi, dagli Usa alla Cina, collaborato con oltre 50 artisti leggendari, quali Terry Williams (Dire Straits), Dave Roe (Bassista di Johnny Cash), Dj Fontana (Batterista di Elvis)…per citarne alcuni.
Centinaia di festival internazionali quali Montreux Jazz Festival 2009, Grand Ole Opry/Ryman Auditorium 2001, Usa, Pistoia Blues 2015 e molti altri.
L’album è un grande mix di parte dei generi ruotanti intorno al Rock’n’Roll, un viaggio virtuale tra le Highway americane, col pensiero rivolto ad atmosfere sognanti ma con la suspence di un film spy, dove il suono twang della sua chitarra taglia a fette l’incessante base ritmica del Contrabbassista Matteo Giannetti e del Batterista Marco Barsanti, fonde ritmi tribali con il Bop ed il Blues, tra venature Country e sonorità Rockabilly, strizzando l’occhio al passato ma con un sound saldamente attaccato al presente e da suonare ad alto volume…Rowdy!

Third album for the Di Maggio Connection, but the 14th for Marco Di Maggio during his career…
The album consists of 11 tracks (plus a radio version of the single “Nowhere Latitude”), of which 8 originals written by Marco Di Maggio and Francesco Chisci (his collaborator for the part of the lyrics in almost all his albums) and 3 remakes of classic Rock and Rock’n’Roll songs, revisited with a personal touch. With this new work, it’s easy to perceive the harmony of a band that in the last 15 years has played international stages on countless tours that have led them to perform in 24 countries, from the US to China.
They collected collaborations with more than 50 top R’n’R Legends, such as:
Terry Williams (Dire Straits), Dj Fontana (Elvis’ Drummer), Dave Roe (Johnny Cash bassist), Slim Jim Phantom (Straycats), Linda Gail Lewis (Jerry Lee’s Sister), Billy Burnette (Fleetwood Mac, John Fogerty), Johnny Farina (Santo & Johnny)…just to name a few…
Although Marco Di Maggio is today the only Italian artist awarded the prestigious role of Honorary Member of the American Official Rockabilly Hall of Fame, his technical background and experience gained both in the American Roots Music have always led him not to close in restrictive and sectorial clichés, but rather to explore the varied world of the substages linked to Rock’n'Roll, Country, Blues, Surf, Swing, Rockabilly, trying to blend everything with an original, personal and never banal touch … The album is indeed a great mix of some genres revolving around the Rock’n'Roll, a virtual journey through the American highways, with the thought turned to dreamy atmospheres but with the suspense of a film spy, where the twang sound of his guitar cuts in slices the incessant rhythmic base of the double bass player Matteo Giannetti and the drummer Marco Barsanti.
He mixes tribal rhythms with Boppin’ Blues, Country, Surf and Rockabilly, winking at the past but with a sound firmly attached to the present…
